New Generation Training and Consultancy are thrilled to announce that it has been recognised with the prestigious Silver Award under the Employer Recognition Scheme by the Ministry of Defence. NGTC is one of 56 employers across the North West of England to receive this honour for its demonstrated commitment to the Armed Forces community
The Employer Recognition Scheme was established to commend employers who actively support the Defence People’s objectives and encourage others to do the same. This includes employing serving and former members of the Armed Forces community and exhibiting flexibility towards training and mobilisation commitments for Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
Mike Needham, Managing Director at NGTC, expressed his pride in receiving the award, saying: “This Silver Award is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and respect our team has for the Armed Forces community. As an employer, it is our honour and privilege to support the brave men and women who serve our nation. This recognition is not just for NGTC, but for all our employees who make this commitment possible.”
In addition, Joe Wooder, Business Development Manager for NGTC, expressed his pride in the company’s ongoing work as an ELCAS provider. He said, “Being recognised with the Silver Award under the Employer Recognition Scheme is an affirmation of the hard work we’ve done as an ELCAS provider. We’re honoured to contribute to the lifelong learning of members of the Armed Forces and will continue to support higher-level learning of nationally recognised qualifications. We are committed to build on this success and enhance our offerings to the Armed Forces community”
Upon announcing the 2023 Employer Recognition Scheme Silver awards, Major General Marc Overton, Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Reserve & Cadets), stated: “A Silver award recognises the fantastic efforts of employers throughout the UK who have both elevated their commitments under the Armed Forces Covenant and provided actual benefits to the Armed Forces Community.” He also praised the winners for the “life-changing impact and fresh opportunities they are providing to our Reservists, veterans and their families” and highlighted the “tangible business benefit” being derived from the Armed Forces family talent pool.
The Chief Executive at the North West of England and the Isle of Man Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (NW RFCA), Colonel Mark Underhill OBE DL, added that he is “honoured and delighted to be able to recognise the outstanding support and commitment given to the Armed Forces Covenant by businesses and organisations in the region”.
