Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is aimed at individuals who are looking to become qualified to obtain a full Close Protection SIA licence. By undertaking this qualification, you will meet the requirements to be deployed within Close Protection roles undertaking activities under the terms of the Private Security Act (2001).
Candidates who obtain this qualification can also operate as Door Supervisors under the Private Security Act (2001).
To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 7 Units
In order to complete the full qualification you will be required to undertake multiple practical scenario assessments at one of our training centres and outreach locations nearby.
To be eligible to undertake the top-up training, candidates must be able to evidence the following
If you require first aid training, we can provide this for an additional charge of £150 prior to your enrolment.
Pre Course – Level 3 First Aid at Work* – Classroom – 3 Full Days
Day 1 – 6 – Classroom – Working as a Close Protection Officer (0900 – 2100)
Day 7 – Classroom – Conflict Management (0900 – 2100)
Day 8 & 9 – Classroom – Physical Intervention Training for Close Protection (0900 – 2100)
Day 10 – 15 – Classroom – Working as a Close Protection Officer (0900 – 2100)
Day 16 – Classroom – Door Supervision for Close Protection Officers (0900 – 2100)
Day 17 & 18 – Classroom & Practical – Physical Intervention Training for Door Supervisors (0900 – 2100)
* You will only need to attend Emergency First Aid at Work training if you are unable to present a valid certificate (within last 12 months)
Formal exams will take place at intervals throughout the programme for which you will need to present your ID documents on each occasion.
If you already hold a valid SIA licence, you may be exempt from some elements of the training programme.
