Who is this qualification for?

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace and has been developed to meet the requirements of tutors who work within the private security industry and need to deliver training in physical intervention skills specific to working as a close protection operative.

It is ideal for tutors who currently deliver SIA training who wish to expand their delivery scope as well as new tutors entering the sector.

Course Overview

To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 2 Units:

  • Unit 1: Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry
    45 Minute Exam – 30 Questions (80% Pass Mark) | Completion of Question & Answer Session
  • Unit 2: Delivering Physical Intervention Training
    Portfolio of Evidence (Internally Moderated)

To complete the full qualification, you will be required to undertake practical scenario assessments at one of our training centres.

Please note – to enter onto this programme, candidates must have already completed a formal teaching qualification at Level 3 or above and completed the Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Conflict Management

You will be required to present evidence of these formal qualifications ahead of the course start date

Course Day One – Classroom or Online – Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection (Full Day)

Course Day Two – Classroom or Online – Delivering Physical Intervention Training for Close Protection (Full Day)

Course Day Three Classroom or Online – Planning & Designing Physical Intervention Training for Close Protection (Full Day)

Course Day Four – Classroom – Professional Practice – Delivering Physical Intervention Training for Close Protection (Full Day)

Eligibility Details

To be eligible to undertake the deliverers of Physical Intervention training, candidates must be able to evidence the following

• Candidates must be 18 years or older
• Undertake our online basic English assessments achieving appropriate results

Candidates must have already completed a formal teaching qualification at Level 3 or above and completed the Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Conflict Management
