At NGTC, we are committed to equipping security and events professionals with the skills they need to excel in their careers. Thanks to newly secured funding through Greater Manchester’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) Multiply programme, we are thrilled to introduce five brand-new courses designed to enhance the practical maths skills essential for safety, security, and event management roles.
These fully funded courses are exclusively available to our past and current Greater Manchester Skills Bootcamp learners as part of our ongoing effort to provide lifelong learning opportunities and professional development and will be made available to the wider sector from 1st April 2025 (that’s no April fools!).
Expanding Knowledge, Enhancing Safety
Building upon the core skills developed throughout our Bootcamp curriculum, these new courses delve deeper into key topics in the security and events sector. Each course focuses on the application of essential numeracy skills to real-world safety and security scenarios, reinforcing best practices and ensuring industry readiness.
New Free Courses Available:
- Crowd Density & Flow Control – Understand the principles of crowd science, assessing density levels and movement patterns to ensure safe and effective event management.
- Calculating the Safe Capacity of a Sports Ground – Learn how to determine safe occupancy levels for stadiums and large venues, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Developing Stewarding Plans – Gain the skills to design, implement, and manage comprehensive stewarding strategies for events of all sizes.
- Evacuation & Invacuation for Events – Emergency planning techniques, preparing for both evacuations and shelter-in-place scenarios to enhance event safety.
- Undertaking Risk Assessments – Build expertise in hazard identification, risk evaluation, and mitigation strategies to create safer environments for attendees and staff.
