Who is this qualification for?
The Introduction to Private Security Skills Bootcamp is tailored for individuals aspiring to secure frontline roles in the private security sector. Upon successful completion, you will possess the qualifications and licenses required to excel in private security operations, ensuring the safety and protection of people, property, and assets. This programme enhances your skills in risk management, incident response, and maintaining security in compliance with industry regulations and best practices. It equips you to work effectively within security teams, manage critical situations, and adapt to dynamic environments. This bootcamp covers for a multitude of private security jobs including static guarding; retail security; working on licensed premises; door supervision; mobile patrol and event security.
Week 1 – Action Counters Terrorism (ACT), See, Check & Notify, First Aid at Work
Week 2 – The Private Security Industry, Conflict Management, Physical Intervention Skills
To complete this course you will need to attend an NGTC training centre for mandatory taught lessons.
Upon completion, NGTC will provide you with funding that support the application of a full front line SIA Door Supervision License.
To achieve the embedded qualifications that enables you to apply for your full SIA license, candidates will need to complete the following units under controlled exam conditions:
In order to complete the full qualification you will be required to undertake practical scenario assessments at one of our training centres.
Elements of the training will be completed via self-study through our online Virtual Learning Environment. This will include the completion of NACTSO’s ACT Awareness and ACT Security modules.
Skills Bootcamps are free flexible courses of up to 16 weeks for people looking for a new role or job opportunity.
Once you complete the course, you’ll be guaranteed a job interview with one of our partnering employers.
If you’re self-employed, you’ll be able to use the training to seek new opportunities for your business.
If you’re being supported by your current employer to complete the Skills Bootcamp then you’ll need to demonstrate the opportunity for a new role or new responsibilities.
