This qualification is aimed at those already managing security teams or those who are developing their careers from officer to supervisor/manager levels. It provides the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to manage security teams and apply effective protective measures at a client property to ensure safety and security of all parties.
To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 4 Units:
Underpinning Knowledge workshops can be delivered in the classroom or through our online platform, NewGen Learning. Your tutor/assessor may wish to visit you in your place of work to undertake observation of practice and practical assessments around your normal working/placement patterns.
You will be assigned a course mentor/tutor to work through an assessed portfolio of evidence. Online or classroom delivery is available for underpinning knowledge training. Your course mentor/tutor may wish to visit you in your place of work to support your development.
Course Day One – General Responsibilities Theory Workshop – Classroom or Online – Full Day
Course Day Two – Legislation / Operational Requirements Workshop – Classroom or Online – Full Day
Course Day Three – Operational skills of a Security Manager – Classroom or Online – Full Day
Course Day Four – Operational skills of a Security Manager – Classroom or Online – Full Day
Course Day Five – Team Leadership in a Security Environment – Classroom or Online – Full Day
Course Day Six – Ten – Workbased Learning Activities – Workplace
You will also be invited to participate in scenario-based, interactive webinar sessions – details of which will be in the user area of your NGTC account
In some cases, you may be able to complete your underpinning knowledge training online through our virtual learning environment, NewGen Learning. In this instance, you will receive guidance via email on how to access and navigate the online platform. If you require further assistance, please speak with your course tutor.
When booking, please allow time to undertake the initial assessments (15-20 minutes) and have copies of any supporting documents you wish to submit into us as part of your application. This includes documents for funding (if applicable) and proof of an exemptions you may have (example – ACT certificates).

This qualification is suitable for learner aged 18+.
There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification, however candidates should have sufficient command of the English Language and should hold an existing Level 2 or 3 SIA licence linked qualification (or equivalent experience)
