Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at individuals who intend to develop and gain formal recognition of their knowledge, understanding and skills of emergency first aid at work. By undertaking this qualification, you will also meet the pre-requisite for attending a full SIA training course.

Qualification structure

To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 1 Unit

  • Unit 1: Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
    Practical Assignment & Portfolio of Evidence (Completed over course of 1 day)

Elements of the training may be completed via self-study through our online Virtual Learning Environment.  If you are completing this as part of your SIA qualification we may ask you to complete or show evidence of completion of the ACT Awareness of ACT for Security Modules prior to undertaking this qualification.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to undertake the emergency first aid at work qualification, candidates must be able to evidence the following

  • Candidates must be 16 years or older
  • Able to attend one of our training centres to undertake the practical observation

Course Day One Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work* – Classroom – Full Day

What does this course cover

This course covers the following content

  • Roles & Responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Minimising Risk of Infection
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Placing Casualties into the Recovery Position
  • Seizures

Eligibility Details

In some cases we may be able to fund this course for you – for example, if your employer is a confirmed partner of NGTC.

This qualification is suitable for learner aged 16+ who meet the pre-course requirements listed on this page.
