The SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness is designed to provide staff with the knowledge and understanding required to support protective security awareness across workplaces, venues and public-facing environments.
The qualification develops practical awareness of the current terrorism threat, common terrorist attack methodologies, the requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (Martyn’s Law), hostile reconnaissance, protective security measures, incident reporting and immediate response actions.
It is suitable for people working across a wide range of public-facing environments including stadiums and arenas, entertainment venues, security operations, hospitality and leisure, retail and shopping centres, places of worship, visitor attractions, local authorities, transport environments and other premises where staff have a role in keeping people safe.
The qualification is particularly relevant to organisations seeking to strengthen staff awareness and preparedness in support of their responsibilities under the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.
