The Government Has Stepped Up Its Efforts To Help Young People Leaving Care To Find Jobs Once They Leave The System.
Ministers have appointed Mark Riddell MBE as an adviser, which is an important step because for a long time there have been concerns about what happens to vulnerable young people when they leave the care system.
In his role he will help councils to offer more support for care leavers up to aged 25, including helping them to take training courses and find jobs.
Robert Goodwill, Minister for Children and Families, said: “Young people leaving care are one of the most vulnerable groups in society and we are determined that they should get the high quality support they need to help them make the transition into adulthood.”
